A medical, personal and family history will also be noted.
Vision is measured by a computerised test chart.
Correct spectacles prescription is then ascertained using a retinoscope and an automated trial frame called The Phoropter.
An opthalmoscope is used to examine the eye for eye disease or general health abnormalities.
Cover test is used to pick out squints or eye muscle abnormalities.
All these basic tests are augmented by retinal cameras, slit-lamp microscope, retinal scanners and Hess screen.
